Q: Is it possible to correct nearsightedness, astigmatism or hyperopia with cataract surgery?

 

A: Through careful medical examination, it can be evaluated whether a patient needs artificial lens to correct existing vision defects (myopia and hyperopia) or leave a residual defect upon recommendation.  Astigmatism can be corrected with special intraocular lenses.
