The term hunger refers to the feeling that arises as a result of the depletion of nutrients in the body and produces the incentive to introduce new ones. Hunger is characterized by a complex of rather unpleasant sensations which can assume characteristics similar to pain, localized primarily in the epigastrium. It may be accompanied by spasms (repeated involuntary contractions, more or less violent and prolonged) of the walls of the stomach, accompanied by pain. The feeling of hunger triggers the need to obtain food.

What is the therapy for hunger?
The simplest solution in case of hunger is eating something to soothe the pangs of appetite and calm the gastric spasms. If the condition is frequent, it is good to seek an advice from a doctor. In case of gastritis, for example, eating does not always solve the feeling of hunger (which is not due to the absence of food in the stomach, but the acidity typical of gastritis) and some foods can even worsen the disorder. In case of diabetes or pregnancy there may be specific guidelines to follow in power that it is better not to transgress.
