The Fertility Center of Humanitas continues its scientific and educational tradition by offering a two-day training course on innovative medical and surgical procedures applied to reproductive health. The event “Reproduction Reloaded”, coordinated by Professor Paolo Emanuele Levi Setti, was held on the 23rd and 24th of September, 2016. It included theoretical lessons followed by a week of workshops, where participants make use of the Fertility Center facilities.
The course objectives
The health of women is a fundamental part of gender medicine. It must consider all the gynecological and reproductive issues that accompany woman from puberty to menopause. The professional skills of doctors acquired during their academic years must be continually updated in order to better manage the needs of patients. Hence the need for a course on reproductive medicine with specific updates which are both theoretical and practical. The course was aimed at medical surgeons who specialize in obstetrics, gynecology and urology, but also for biologists, biotechnologists, and nurses. During the course many issues were addressed, including the management of hormonal dysfunction, anovulation, fibroids, endometriosis, abnormal bleeding, infertility, assisted reproduction and much more. The event was also attended by national and international experts, as in previous years. They intervened to clarify specific aspects that emerged from the discussions held. A week of training at the Humanitas Fertility Center will enable participants, under the supervision of a tutor to observe clinical practice of all medical and biological techniques of assisted procreation.
