“No one is disabled to happiness”: this is the title of the campaign of the Ariel Foundation in order to support the families of children with neuromotor disabilities, thanks to the solidarity number 45590. Until 13th of April it will be possible, with a text message or a phone call to 45590, to donate 2 or 5 euros that will be devolved to the new project of the Ariel Foundation “Around me”.
Since 2003, the Ariel Foundation has been taking care of children with infantile cerebral palsy – a disease that damages the nervous system, paralyses muscles and can compromise their cognitive abilities – and their families.
“Around me”: the new Ariel Foundation Centre
With the new project “Around Me”, Fondazione Ariel aims to create a Centre dedicated to the care of the families with children affected by neuromotor disabilities, in order to offer them free advice and support thanks to a team of specific professionals, identified through the analysis of the needs expressed by the families themselves, such as a psychologist, a lawyer, a social worker and a nurse.
The project is part of Ariel’s long journey to support the entire family, in the knowledge that the well-being of children is strongly linked to that of their families. This is why there is a need for greater customization of responses and a more articulated offer of counseling and support services over time, so that the parents can face the complexities of disability with tranquillity and energy, helping their child to develop skills as well as potential that are precious for his or her future development.
The solidarity campaign
For the realization of the Centre, Ariel launches the campaign “No one is disabled to happiness”: from 1 to 13 April it is possible to send a text message or make a phone call to the solidarity number 45590, in order to allow the Foundation to start the work within the year and reach the goal of welcoming 150 families in the first year of activity.
The value of the donation will be 2€ for each text message sent by mobile phones Wind Tre, TIM Vodafone, PosteMobile, Iliad, Coop Voce, Tiscali. It will be 2 or 5 € for each call from the fixed network TIM, Vodafone, Wind Tre, Fastweb and Tiscali and 5 € for each call from the fixed network TWT, Convergenze and PosteMobile.
