Professor Elizaveta Kon is the Director of the Knee Joint Articulation Reconstruction Centre at Humanitas Research Hospital.
Her areas of interests cover knee surgery, surgical and biological treatment of cartilaginous and osteocartilaginous flaws and regenerative medicine of arthrosis (infiltrative treatments with growing drivers and tissues derived cells).
Also, Professor Kon handles sport traumas, such as meniscus transplant and ligament reconstructions with very innovative techniques to speed up the early functional recovery.
In addition, she performs joint prosthetic replacement and treats bone compounds losses with innovative materials.
Professor Kon carries researches out in the field of regenerative medicine, with innovative techniques for joint and meniscal reconstruction in order to develop a biological joint reconstruction and she also does research on stem cells, both in clinical and pre-clinical field.
She covered various roles in National and International Scientific Societies’ Boards, such as ESSKA and SIGASCOT. At the moment she is the General Secretary of the International Cartilage Repairs Society (ICRS).
Professor Kon is the coordinator of different research projects in Europe and in Italy in the field of regenerative medicine.
She, during her career, has published over 160 articles on international scientific magazines and 48 books chapters (H index 58, Google Scholar). She is the editor of 3 books of orthopaedic surgery. Also, some of her articles gained international acknowledgement as “the most downloaded publication 2011-2016” and “the most cited publication 2011-2016” of Arthoroscopy Journal and “the most cited publication 2009-2010” of the American Journal of Sport Medicine.
Professor Kon participated in more than 400 national and international scientific conferences both as presenter and moderator.
Finally, she is Professor in many bachelor and master degrees.
