- You are taking other medicines, herbal remedies and supplements, in particular allopurinol, azithromycin, clarithromycin, erythromycin, diuretics, lithium, oral contraceptives, phenytoin, prednisone, propranolol, rifampin, tetracyclines, medicines against infections, cardiovascular drugs, ephedrine, epinephrine, phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine or phenylpropanolamine
- You suffer (or suffered) seizures, ulcers, heart disease, thyroid problems, high blood pressure, liver disease or alcohol abuse
- You are pregnant or lactating
- You smoke
