Flurazepam is a benzodiazepine. It works by slowing brain activity to allow sleep.
What is Flurazepam?
Flurazepam is used in cases of insomnia. It is useful both when the problem consists in difficulty falling asleep, or when you cannot sleep well due to continuous arousals.
How should Flurazepam be taken?
Flurazepam is consumed orally, usually just before bedtime.

- swelling of the face

- coma
Contraindications and warnings associated with the use of Flurazepam
Flurazepam can be addictive, so it's good to strictly follow the doctor's directions regarding recruitment and dosages. It can also impair the ability to drive or operate hazardous machinery.
Alcohol can increase the side effects of the drug, while smoking may reduce its effectiveness.
The sleeping problems should start to disappear within 7-10 days from the first intake of Flurazepam. Otherwise it is good to contact your doctor for advice.
Before taking the drug, it is important to inform your doctor:
- If you have an allergy to the active substance, its excipients or other drugs
- If you are taking any other medicinal products, herbal supplements or sedatives. Mentioning in particular: antihistamines, cimetidine, clozapine, digoxin, anxiolytics, antidepressants, psychotropic drugs, anticonvulsants, muscle relaxants, sedatives, tranquilizers and other drugs for sleeping
- If you excessively use alcohol or drugs, or if you are taking (or have ever taken) drugs
- If you suffer (or have suffered) from depression, psychiatric disorders, sleep apnea or lung disease, kidney or liver
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
It is important to inform surgeons and dentists about any ongoing treatment with Flurazepam.
