The Department of Anesthesiology and General Intensive Care is responsible for the anesthetic management of all patients who are in the operating theaters for surgery.
The type of anesthesia (general, locoregional, plexus or nerve block) is decided according to the type of surgery and it is relative to the patient. The team performs outpatient and inpatient pre-anesthetic visits, follows the course and treatment of postoperative pain and monitors the vital balances with an anesthetic-resuscitation guard for 24h/24.

The general ICU allows the execution of complex interventions in compromised patients ensuring regular monitoring and postoperative intensive care. It also offers the appropriate supportive respiratory, cardiovascular and metabolic care for any eventuality in urgency and emergency.
