Who can undergo this type of examination?
Over 100 million men worldwide suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED). It is a widespread problem, often not preventable, arising from different cause and increasing with age.
Humanitas LAB provides a useful diagnostic test for men who wish to assess their condition and be provided with the best therapeutic strategy to treat the cause and not just the symptoms.
Why undergo this type of examination?
Erectile dysfunction (ED), colloquially referred to as impotence, is the persistent inability (for at least three months) to achieve and / or maintain an erection sufficient to lead a satisfying sexual relationship. It is a very common disorder, affecting 13% of the male population and increases with age: after age 50, nearly 50% of men suffer from this condition.
Causes tend to vary, including: psychological, related to an illness or bad habits, or related to the assumption of certain types of drugs. In particular, the most important risk factors are sedentary, including obesity, smoking, metabolic diseases (such as diabetes or high cholesterol) and cardiovascular diseases.
Humanitas LAB, together with its urology specialists, offers a way to recognize the problem in time and study the best and most appropriate form of treatment for each individual.
